About AutoText

Sometimes, typing on the little BlackBerry keyboard produces less than desirable results. Fortunately, to assemble the most common questions or answers on a survey or mobile form, you can create an “AutoText” entry to solve this problem.

Blackberry's AutoText is designed to replace specific text that you type with preloaded AutoText entries. If you type text that can be replaced with an AutoText entry, the text changes after you press the Space key.

You may increase your survey creation typing speed with BlackBerry Autotext by setting up your most commonly used sentences or answers to be autopopulated with  AutoText.

To do this, please proceed as follows :

To access autotext, go to Options (usually wrench icon) > Autotext > New

Type in the new entry you want to add, just hit the ENTER key to start adding your new entry.

Roll down to under the ‘With’ and type the text you want to appear when you type your new AutoText word

Press the MENU key and select “Save.”

Now go to your Create Survey screen and start creating a survey

Now when you want to add the complete text of a commonly used question, all you have to do is type the code letters you used to create that sentence with AutoText.
